A Newark teen has been indicted for the fatal shooting of his mother's boyfriend last summer.
Nariq Peeks allegedly conspired with 23-year-old Jessie McNeil, also of Newark, to kill Qua-Shawn Chaney, 32, on Clinton Place last year on July 16.
According to authorities, Peeks allegedly pulled the trigger of a gun - given to him by McNeil - after an altercation unfolded between Peeks and Chaney. One of the shots also grazed Tiffany Canary - who was walking with Peeks prior to altercation - on her head, authorities said.
On Thursday, Perls and McNeil were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Peeks also was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly injuring Canary during the shooting.
Their arraignment is scheduled for May 2 before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.
