A Newtonville man was found early this morning in Atlantic City, the victim of a shooting, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Atlantic City Police responded to Hobart Avenue for a Shotspotter Gunshot Detection and Location activation at 1:59 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Upon arrival, police found a male victim, the apparent victim of gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—City Division.
The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:49 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
Next-of-kin have been notified. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
