Township police confirmed that a 10-year-old girl was struck by a NJ Transit bus this morning.
According to Lt. Vincent Ricciardi, the 10-year-old elementary school student ran out in front of traffic at the crosswalk of 274 Hillside Avenue sometime around 8 a.m. when she was struck by the bus.
The child was taken to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for evaluation.
No summonses have been issued in relation to the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
