Authorities are on the scene of a shooting with one person dead in the city at this time.
Reports of shots fired that rang out at around 7:30 a.m. sent police to the area of Route 9 near the old Amboy Cinema where they located one person suffering an apparent gunshot wound at that location.
Medical staff arrived to the scene and pronounced the unidentified victim dead according to initial reports.
Investigators from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene at this time.
There are heavy traffic delays on Route 9 so plan accordingly.
