An overnight stabbing sent a woman to the hospital in Newark.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing with a person injured shortly before 12:20 a.m. in the 200 block of Washington Street.
Arriving police units located the conscious and responsive woman suffering a non-life threatening stab wound at that location.
The woman was transported to University Hospital where she was treated and later released.
Police arrested 33-year old Precious Nah in the area of Market Street and Halsey Street within minutes after the stabbing. She was charged with aggravated assault.
A weapon (knife) was found at the scene.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
