Camden Homicide Suspect Extradited to NJ; Held on $1M Bail

Camden

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Camden homicide suspect has been extradited from Pennsylvania to New Jersey and was arraigned in court today.

Armando Perez, 19, of Camden, appeared this morning before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. on a first-degree murder charge.  He will remain held at the Camden County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Perez is accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Jose Alvarez of Camden at the All American Gardens Apartments on the 1900 block of Phillips Street in Camden on the night of September 13, 2015.

Perez was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in February at a residence in the Easton, Pa. area after eluding authorities for several months.
