Emergency responders are on the scene of a crash with injuries reported on Route 1&9 in Elizabeth.
Crews arrived to the area of Route 1&9 at East Grand Street shortly before 6 a.m. where the crash knocked down several power lines onto the roadway trapping the occupant of one vehicle.
Police shut down all southbound lanes at East Jersey Street and northbound lanes at Grand Street for utility crews to began the repair and cleanup efforts.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital suffering serious injuries.
