A male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Aberdeen, according to police.
Police were called to the northbound side of the Parkway near mile-marker 120 for a report of a pedestrian struck shortly after 4 a.m.
Based on preliminary investigation, 54-year-old Sean Sweeney of Holmdel, was involved in a motor-vehicle crash and was outside his Dodge Ram when he was struck by another vehicle.
He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by police.
