Irvington Man Arrested for Newark Murder

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that Rakeem Johnson, 35, of Irvington has been arrested for the murder of Abner Dominguez, 36, of Jersey City.

Dominguez was fatally shot in the vicinity of 93 Roseville Avenue in Newark on Dec. 22, 2015.

Johnson has been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Johnson has been processed and transported the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

He is being held on $1 million bail set by the Honorable John Zunic, Judge of the Superior Court.
