Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint in Newark's East Ward

Police in Newark are investigating an armed carjacking reports that happened in the city's East Ward late last night.

Cops were called to the 20's block of Carmen court at around 10:45 p.m. on reports of an armed carjacking at gunpoint according to reports.

Arriving units located a female victim who reported to them that two black male suspects exited a red Jeep with a gun in hand then pointed it to her abdomen and demanded her keys and other personal possessions.

According to the victim, one of the men took her vehicle while the other suspect sped away westbound towards Raymond Boulevard in the red Jeep.

The vehicle is a gray NIssan Altima with a reported NJ license plate numbers "P64-FLX"

There were no report of physical injuries reported in the carjacking.

NOTE:

There was a crash at the Exxon Gas Station on Central and West Market at around 4:15 a.m. that involved a red Jeep.

It is unknown if the carjacking suspects that were apprehended in the city's West Ward were the suspects wanted for this carjacking.
