A pursuit of a vehicle occupied by suspects wanted for a carjacking had police focused and determined to captured early this morning in Newark.
Officers from the NJ State Police and The Newark Police Department followed a vehicle that refused to stop in the area of West End Avenue in the city's West Ward at around 12:30 a.m.
After a check of the vehicle's registration officers noticed that the car was reportedly carjacked earlier.
The vehicle (in an attempt to evade capture) sped through several neighborhoods while being carefully watched overhead by a police helicopter and with ground units keeping a safe distance according to reports.
State Troopers and NPD units began a foot pursuit when the suspected vehicle came to a crashing halt at Stuyvesant Avenue and Lenox Avenue with the suspects bailing from the vehicle.
Two suspects were captured a short distance away reports said.
There were no immediate reports of physical injuries.
