A 31-year-old Garfield man is heading to the hospital after he was struck by a live wire as he crossed MacArthur Avenue where a high-voltage wire snapped around 11:50 a.m. striking the pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers found the man conscious and alert.
He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center as a precaution.
The incident caused power outages. PSE&G responded to the scene.
