A Roselle man accused of firing shots during a family barbecue in Linden surrendered to authorities, according to police.
On July 25, 2015, Marco E. Zguro, 36, of Roselle, was at a family barbecue in Linden, when he got into a dispute with another individual.
Zguro pulled out a handgun and fired. He fled the scene before police arrived.
Linden Detective Kenneth Mikolajczyk conducted a follow up investigation and obtained arrest warrants for Zguro charging him with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. Bail was set for Zguro at $100,000.00.
Police circulated his photo and warrants to other law enforcement agencies and to the media, but he eluded capture until this past Thursday when he turned himself in to local authorities.
He was booked on the charges and posed a surety bond.
However, police also found that he was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of New York City for a DUI charge, and he was remanded to the Union County jail pending an extradition hearing.
