A 20-year-old Jersey City man pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter for fatally shooting his sister's boyfriend in 2013, when he was only 17.
On the day of the shooting, Nigee Paige had an argument with his girlfriend that ultimately escalated to a physical altercation.
The woman's brother, Quaran T. Martin, came downstairs and shot Paige in the chest.
Martin (17 at the time of the shooting) initially charged with murder as a juvenile and was held at the Hudson County Juvenile Corrections Facility while the decision on whether to try him as an adult is made.
If charged with murder as an adult, Martin could faced 30 years to life in prison if convicted.
Martin is scheduled to be sentenced on March 4 in Jersey City
