Authorities in Essex County are investigating a shooting that left a man fatally injured in the city late last night.
Gunfire erupted at a housing complex in the 900 block of South Franklin Avenue (Stephan Crane) shortly before 10 p.m. sending police to the scene where they located a male victim shot at that location.
The man was later pronounced dead after being shot multiple times to various parts of his body according to reports.
Police setup a crime scene where they searched for evidence and a possible suspect.
The victim's identity has not been released pending notification to family members.
