Parents of students that attend Elizabeth High School (Dwyer Academy) are outraged after finding out through a video that surfaced on social media, that a fight broke out at the school Thursday.
In a 55-second video posted on YouTube, dozens of students are seen throwing punches and kicking each other. A student is even seen striking a student with a chair, as school security officers attempted to pull them apart.
It is believed the brawl occurred Thursday, Jan. 21.
According to a student's parent, several were injured as a result of the brawl.
Superintendent of Elizabeth Public Schools, Olga Hugelmeyer, issued the following statement:
The safety of our students and staff are important to us. The incident has been reviewed the Elizabeth Board of Education and disciplinary actions have been taken.
