An investigation is underway in Newark after a shooting left a man dead overnight.
According to authorities, gunfire rang out at around 11:30 p.m. in the 800 block of South 14th Street sending police to the scene where they located a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
The man (who is reported to be in his mid 40's) was transported to University Hospital where he died from his injuries early this morning.
Police searched the area for suspects and established a crimes scene for evidence.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
