Police in Newark are on the search for an armed carjacker that struck in Newark this evening.
The suspect has been described as a black male who was last seen wearing a mask and dark clothing when he pointed a silver colored gun at the victim and stole a black 2008 BMW in the area of North 5th Street and Central Ave. at around 5:30 p.m.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number " Y21-GDF" and was last seen entering I-280.
There were no physical injuries reported.
