Police are investigating a Monday night carjacking in Elizabeth.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Monroe Avenue for a report of carjacking at approximately 8:49 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, a 33-year-old Elizabeth resident who stated that he had just parked his vehicle, when was approached by a black male armed with a knife, demanded the victim’s keys.
The victim turned over the keys to the 2003 4-door silver Honda which the suspect –approximately 5’9" tall, last seen wearing a light colored sweatshirt - used to flee northbound on Rt. 1&9.
The victim was unharmed, according to police.
Detectives responded and an investigation is ongoing.
