The suspicious death of 45-year-old man found dead Christmas Eve inside his Lakewood home is under investigation.
Police responded to a Laguna Lane home on Dec. 24 around 8 p.m., for a welfare check.
According to police, Miguel Rivera's family contacted them concerned about Rivera's well-being after not hearing from him in several days.
When police arrived at the residence, Rivera's body was found face down in the hallway after having suffered trauma to his head.
Although police did not confirm, someone reportedly gained entry into the home through a window and beat Rivera to death.
Police continue to investigate.
