The family of a woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 22 over the week has announced funeral arrangements.
According to the family, a wake for 28-year-old Sharon Parker of Newark will be held at the Cotton's Funeral Home on Bergen Street in Newark this Tuesday, December 29, 2015 beginning at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the funeral service to began at noon.
Parker was fatally struck by a vehicle along with an unidentified male late Saturday evening on the westbound side of Rt. 22 near Vauxhall Road in Union according to police.
Authorities said an early investigation revealed that the pair were attempting to cross the highway when they were struck by a vehicle causing fatal injuries to Parker and leaving the male in stable condition.
The male victim has since ben released from the hospital according to reports.
There have been no charges filed at this time against the driver that stayed at the scene authorities said.
The incident remains under investigation.
