An Elizabeth woman was robbed early this morning as she walked on Monroe Avenue in Elizabeth.
Police responded to 1000 block of Monroe Avenue for a report of a robbery shortly after 7 this morning.
Upon arriving, officers spoke with the victim, a 26-year-old Elizabeth woman, who states that while walking on the 1000 block of Monroe Avenue - near Fanny Street - two black males exited a parked vehicle and walk towards her.
One male grabbed her, and shoved her to the ground, taking her purse.
The suspects were described as two young black males, thin builds, approx. 5’7” tall, with gray hooded sweatshirts.
The men fled in a tan 4-door vehicle towards North Avenue.
The victim's purse contained $40.00 in cash and several personal papers and belongings.
The investigation is ongoing.
