A violent crash that left two people dead and one injured that occurred on East 7th Street and Scott Ave. has Plainfield authorities investigating if speed and alcohol is one of the factors according to a statement issued by police a short time ago.
First responders arrived to the scene shortly after 2 AM to find massive damage to the vehicle as the vehicle struck a tree and split in half. The driver and another occupant unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The 3rd occupant suffered an arm injury with other minor injuries. The names of the victims have not been released as police are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
