Police are investigating a crash on Route 22 West were two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle Saturday night.
Officers responded to Route 22 West shortly before 9:30 p.m. for a report of two pedestrians struck.
Initial investigations revealed that the two pedestrians were struck after crossing the eastbound side of Route 22 near the bowling alley.
According to family sources, a female victim was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark.
As of 11 p.m., the westbound lanes of the highway remained closed at Vauxhall Road for the ongoing investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
