A vehicle that refused to stop for police in Union, led to a pursuit that ended in Newark with an arrest overnight.
Authorities in Union attempted to pull over a vehicle in the township that was wanted for suspicious activities shortly before midnight when the vehicle sped away from officers.
Police began to follow the vehicle in the area of Chancellor Ave. and 40th Street. The suspected vehicle began to reach high speeds as the driver eluded police, ultimately ending in the area of Kerrigan Boulevard and Sanford Place in Newark's West Ward.
One person bailed from the pickup truck and attempted to run from officers that were engaged in the pursuit.
Officers were able to catch the suspect in the 300 block of Kerrigan Boulevard.
According to initial reports, the suspect was wanted for attempting to burglarize several businesses in Union by using the truck to ram into businesses, possibly trying to steal ATM machines.
The incident is under investigation by Union Police.
There were no injuries reported.
