Linden Man Accused of Breaking Into a Church, Arrested

A 25-year-old Linden man accused breaking into a city church was arrested today, according to police.

On Nov. 20, police were called to the First Pentecostal Church of God, located at 914 E. St. George Avenue – to report that the church had been burglarized overnight.

Responding officers discovered that a door on the side of the church had been pried open, allowing entry into the building. The minister reported that a video camcorder (valued at $500) and a guitar, (valued at $300) were stolen.

Detectives responded to the scene and recovered evidence which led to the identification of a suspect.

Alishakri S. Pearson, 25, of Linden, was arrested on today after a three week detectives.

He was charged with burglary and released after posting a bond for $10,000. Pearso’s court date was scheduled for December 21st.

The stolen items have not been recovered.
