The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a pedestrian strike that left a New York woman dead in Orange Saturday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, a 61-year-old woman from Hempstead, New York was struck yesterday at Scotland Road and Randolph Place on Saturday evening.
The woman was transported by EMS to University Hospital where she died a short time later the spokesperson said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained at the scene and was not immediately charged with any crime according to the spokesperson.
