A raging overnight multiple alarm fire that ripped through a house in Belleville is under investigation.
Firefighters rushed to the 50's block of Heckel Street shortly before 10:45 p.m after numerous calls of heavy fire in a corner house in the area.
Companies arrived to find smoke and fire on the second floor and in the roof area of the structure.
Heavy fire consumed the upper floor eventually causing the roof collapsed.
Mutual assistance from Newark, Montclair, Bloomfield, West Orange, North Arlington, and Cedar Grove assisted in keeping the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings.
There were no serious injuries reported, and arson investigators were called to the scene to investigate.
