Several residents escaped a raging house fire that erupted last night in the township.
According to fire officials, fire broke out in the two-story home on Belmont Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. sending crews to the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire coming from the rear of the house.
Officials said the fire started in a couch in the rear of the home and extended to the second floor.
An elderly woman on the first floor (who was asleep) was assisted out of the building by neighbors, while two adult males made it out of the house on their own officials said.
A Rottweiler perished on the second floor of the home.
