Authorities are on the scene of a fatal shooting that happened in the city's West Ward.
Police responded to South 12th Street near 14th Ave. early this mornin where they located a male victim inside a vehicle suffering a gunshot injury reportedly to the head.
Residents near the crime scene said the male victim was taken from the vehicle early this morning and never made it to the hospital.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
