Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Union Motel

Union Township (Union)

Two women were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night inside a township motel room, police said today.

According to authorities, on Sunday night, at approximately 7:37 p.m., two females flagged down an officer and reported they were robbed in one of the rooms at the Garden State Motel on Route 22.

The victims told officers that they were asking around, trying to buy marijuana and ended up in one of the rooms at the motel.

The pair said that two men in the room pulled out guns and forced them to strip down according to police.

The men took their cell phones and other personal possessions before they ran out of the motel room with their belongings.

The men were last seen running away on foot towards Vauxhall Road, according to police.

The victims reportedly got dressed and approached a police officer who just happened to be checking on the motel during that time.

Detectives are actively investigating the robbery.
