Police are investigating an attempted robbery and assault that occurred early this morning in the area of West Roselle Avenue.
Roselle Park police responded to the 100 block of W. Roselle Ave on a report of a robbery at approximately 6:26 a.m.
The victim, a 52-year-old Roselle Park resident, stated that he was standing near a vehicle, when a dark colored SUV pulled up next to him asking for directions.
The passenger then exited the vehicle and held an unknown object - believed to be a stun gun - against the victims’ chest and demanded his wallet.
The victim attempted to run away but the suspect pushed him to the ground and began to struggle with him activating the stun gun.
After a brief struggle the suspects fled the area in the SUV without proceeds.
The driver was described as a heavy set black male in his 30’s, last seen wearing a camouflage shirt.
The passenger was described as a thin dark-skinned black male, approximately in his 30’s, braided hair and a goatee, who was also wearing a camouflage shirt.
