North Brunswick Woman Drags Edison Cop in Chase

A North Brunswick woman accused of ramming into police cruisers and dragging an officer was arrested and charged Monday.

Police were called to the Skylark Diner yesterday to remove an unruly female customer who by the time they arrived had left.

Minute later however, the woman - later identified as Paranee Y. Sun - called 911 from a gas station requesting to talking to officers.

After police initiated a conversation with Sun, she became uncooperative and angry, according to police.

Shortly after, slamming into a police car before fleeing down Route 1 south. When Sun came to a haunt ar a red traffic signal, Sgt. Thomas Errico and Officer Nicholas Bayne tried to arrest Sun but she refused to get out instead drove her car into Bayne's cruiser, dragging Errico approximately 40 feet as she struggled with him through the driver's side window, police said.

The chase came to an end after Sun was crashed into a second police cruiser.

According to police, one of the officers was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treated on a badly sprained or fractured wrist.

Sun was charged with aggravated assault and attempted aggravated assault.

She is being held on $250,000 bail, police said.
