The Linden Fire Department introduces the department’s 11th fire chief.
On Friday, September 25th the Linden City Clerk, Joseph Bodek, administered the oath of office to Joseph G. Dooley as the Linden Fire Department’s 11th Fire Chief.
Chief Dooley started on the department in 1984 was promoted to Lieutenant in 1990, became Captain in 1995, Deputy Chief in 2000 and Linden Fire Official in 2014.
He has been instrumental in obtaining grants for the department totaling almost 5 million dollars.
The Chief over his career has received numerous awards from The City of Linden, St. Barnabas Burn Center and NJ State F.M.B.A.
Chief Dooley thanked his family and past and present department members in helping him obtain the rank of chief.
Immediately following his swearing in, Chief Dooley promoted firefighter Joseph Stanley to the rank of Lieutenant.
