An investigation is underway into a crash involving a police cruiser that sent a police officer to the hospital late last night.
Emergency crews rushed to the area of Central Ave. and Eppirt Street shortly before 11 p.m. for a crash with possible injuries.
First responders arriving to the scene located a police car damaged after a collision that had the involved vehicle's driver flee the scene.
The officer was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
The East Orange Police Department are handling the investigation.
