Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray along with Irvington Police Chief Musa Malik and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force along with local police departments in Newark and Irvington are investigating two separate unrelated homicides.
According to authorities at approximately 9:30 a.m. a male was fatally shot in the vicinity of 23 Howard Street in Irvington.
Authorities said shortly after 10:30 a.m. today a man was fatally shot in Newark on South Orange Avenue and Isabella.
At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
