An early evening shooting that happened in the city has police investigating.
According to a resident, yesterday around 5 p.m., an armed man entered the 200 block of Bond Street where he fired at a man, striking him in the leg. The man was transported to the hospital where he was expected to survive his injury.
Residents in the area said the street was filled with children who were outside playing and enjoying their Saturday afternoon.
"If a nearby resident did not gather all the kids and escort them into his yard, one of our children could have been injured" a resident said.
Police arrived to the scene shortly after the shooting where they recovered shell casings, according to the resident.
