Police Are Looking for a Duo Accused of Stealing Over $1,900 in Jeans From Linden Kohls

Linden New Jersey

Two men - allegedly part of a ring of thieves - stole more than $1,900 in jeans from a Kohls Department Store in Linden Wednesday night, authorities said.

On August 26, 2015 at approximately 6:55 p.m., loss prevention personnel from Kohls Department Store reported to police that a Hispanic male was observed placing 42 pairs of Levi bluejeans valued at $1,973 in a shopping cart.

The male pushed the shopping cart near a rear emergency entrance door and then walked out the front door of the store. Moments later, a second male entered the store and went to the shopping cart, opened the rear door and pushed the cart outside to a waiting vehicle, where the jeans were loaded and the suspect fled the scene.

Loss Prevention told police that the thieves are part of an organized ring which has hit several stores in Hudson and Morris counties.

Detectives are reviewing video surveillance footage inside and outside the store. In one of the other thefts, police were told that the thieves were using a gray Toyota Sienna minivan with a NJ temp tag as circulated by internal emails.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at (908) 474-8537.
