Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Germaine Zayas, 35, of Hackensack, on narcotics related charges.
A two month investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that Germaine Zayas was distributing Marijuana by way of his vehicle throughout numerous towns in Bergen County. On Thursday, August 20, law enforcement personnel from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, the Hackensack Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit executed a court authorized search warrant of Zayas’. As a result of a search of his residence and vehicle, approximately one pound of Marijuana, “edible cakes” containing Marijuana and Hashish oil, drug paraphernalia and $7,506.00 were seized. Zayas was charged with one count each of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, a third degree crime and possession with intent to distribute hashish oil, a third degree crime.
His bail was set by the Honorable Louis J. Dinice, J.M.C. at $150,000 with no ten (10%) percent cash option.
Zayas was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
