An investigation is underway into a pedestrian being struck and fatally injured by a vehicle in Freehold last night.
First responders rushed to the 3600 block of U.S. Rt. 9 shortly before 10 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian that was struck at that locations.
EMS arrived to find the victim laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive. Several attempts to revive the victim were unsuccessful according to reports.
The victim was pronounced at the scene.
The identity of the victim will be released pending notification of the family.
