Monmouth County Sherriff’s Office has announced that the search for a swimmer who went missing last night while swimming at Sandy Hook Beach has ended.
Yesterday around 7:30 p.m., officials searched for a 25-year-old man, who was swimming with his girlfriend in an unprotected area of the beach, who disappeared in the surf.
Despite searching overnight the rescue soon transitioned to a recovery effort.
Recovery efforts have come back empty, the man has not been found.
