Police on the search for a man accused of a string of thefts and attempted theft at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
On July 18 at approximately 8 a.m., an employee was assaulted and robbed of her cell phone at the employee garage. She alerted security who gave chase to suspect but who was not able to apprehend suspect.
The employee, who is physically ok but certainly shaken up, was able to positively identify the suspect.
The next morning at approximately 4:45 a.m., security spotted the same suspect on campus and gave chase.
Newark police were called after the suspect ran into a building. However, till this day suspect has not been apprehended.
He has been identified but remains free.
Hospital security is asking hospital employees and visitors to be hyper vigilant.
