Reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Grace Street and Nye Ave. sent several police units to the scene at around 5:15 p.m. with a male victim suffering serious injuries from gunfire.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in Newark a short time after the shooting.
Police setup a crime scene where several shell casings were recovered.
There were no reports of arrests made.
