Authorities in Hillside are investigating a stabbing that happened overnight in the city.
Police responded to several calls of a physical altercation that possibly involved weapons that broke out in the 1100 block of St. Louis
Upon arrival to the scene, police aided a male victim who was slashed to the face after an altercation with a male suspect. The suspect who remained at the scene (only described as a black male) was immediately placed under arrest.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening injuries.
A knife was later recovered near the scene.
