Authorities Arrest Alleged Gang Members with $15K Worth of Crack in Bloomfield

Authorities announced today the arrest of two alleged gang members found in possession of $15,000 worth of crack cocaine. 

Wednesday afternoon, undercover police officers observed a green 1992 Acura drive into a parking lot on Franklin Street in Bloomfield.

After further investigations, occupants later identified as Romello Gonzalez, 19, and Christopher James, 22, both of Newark, were placed under arrested Wednesday afternoon after police found a total of 29 grams of crack visible in a plastic bag on the center console of the car. 

According to authorities, the drugs have an estimated street value of approximately $15,000.

Gonzalez and James are currently being held at the Essex County Jail on $150,000 bail.

Both men are alleged members of the Crips street gang.
