Police responded to River Drive shortly before 9 a.m., where they found a pedestrian, only described as a male, seriously injured.
After further investigation, police discovered the victim was struck twice as he tried to cross.
One of the two drivers remained at the scene. The second vehicle – a silver four-door Nissan with heavy windshield damage - driven by18-year-old Liana Rodriguez continued north from Garfield on River Drive.
The unidentified victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
