A fast moving two-alarm fire that broke out in a three-story house at 27 Nichols Street sent firefighters to the scenes shortly before 5 a.m. where heavy fire was observed upon arrival.
Crews rushed to the scene after reports of several people possibly trapped inside the burning building where initial reports are saying that the blaze began on the bottom floors.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about an hour with minor smoke inhalation injuries reported.
About 16 people were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under control.
