Ever since a 4-year-old Linden boy was found wandering the street at S. Wood Ave. and Routes 1&9 on June 20th, the department’s Facebook page and Juvenile Bureau have been inundated with inquiries as far away as Brazil on whether the boy is the same child who was abducted and went missing in Brazil in 2013.
Linden Juvenile Detective Steve Zevlikaris and Detective Lieutenant Keith Aslin have been following up on investigative leads with Interpol, the U.S. State Department, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and several agencies, and, at this point, do not believe that there is any credible evidence to link the two cases.
The detectives have observed the Linden boy’s birth certificate and verified that he was born in a New Jersey hospital.
The detectives will continue to investigate any leads that comes to their attention.
Information can be forwarded to the Juvenile Bureau at (908) 474-8520 or email azevlikaris@lpdnj.org.
