An investigation is underway into a late night fatal shooting that happened near the Pathmark supermarket located in the 400 block of Lyons Ave.
Gunfire erupted at around 12:30 a.m. near the supermarket sending police and EMS to the scene where they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive as result of an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police setup a crime scene where they began to search for evidence and a suspect.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
