Authorities in Gloucester County are investigating a fatal single-car crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old driver early Wednesday morning.
According to information released by New Jersey State Police, the teen was traveling south on Route 55 in Deptford Township when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete overpass support before colliding with a nearby tree.
The driver, a resident of Sewell, was pronounced dead at the scene. 
His identity has not yet been made public.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and no additional details have been released at this time.
